Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the eligibility requirements prescribed under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, and the applicable Tripura rules.
Educational Qualification
- Essential: Graduation from a recognized university.
- Desirable: A recognized degree or diploma in Social Work, Law, Management, Human Rights, Rehabilitation, or Education of Persons with Disabilities.
Experience
- Candidates must possess special knowledge or practical experience relating to the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities.
- At least 20 years of experience in a Group 'A' level or equivalent post is required.
- The experience may be in the Central Government, State Government, public sector undertakings, semi-government or autonomous bodies dealing with disability-related or social-sector matters, or as a senior-level functionary in a registered state, national or international voluntary organization working in disability or social development.
Age Limit
The candidate must not have attained the age of 56 years as on 1 January of the year in which the last date for receipt of applications occurs, as stated in the advertisement.
Salary and Allowances
The State Commissioner will receive salary and allowances admissible to a Secretary to the State Government, subject to the applicable rules and terms and conditions.
For retired government servants or retired employees of qualifying government-funded institutions or autonomous bodies receiving a pension, the salary may be reduced by the pension amount and, where applicable, the commuted portion specified in the notification.
Selection Process
- The State Government may shortlist candidates and adopt an appropriate selection procedure.
- A Search-cum-Selection Committee will recommend suitable candidates.
- The committee will recommend a panel of three suitable candidates to the State Government.
- The State Government will have the final authority regarding selection and appointment.

Eligible candidates may submit their applications in plain paper by post or email. Follow the steps below:
- Prepare an application containing all the required personal, educational and professional details.
- Include your full name, father's/mother's/spouse's name, date of birth, present and permanent addresses, contact number and email ID.
- Provide educational qualifications and details of professional and administrative experience.
- Describe your experience in disability rehabilitation or empowerment, and mention your present or last post and organization.
- State whether a No Objection Certificate (NOC) has been obtained from your current employer, department or organization, where applicable.
- Include a brief statement explaining your suitability for the post.
- Attach self-attested copies of certificates and documents supporting your age, educational qualifications, experience and other claims.
- Submit the completed application so that it reaches the department by 5 November 2026, during office hours, or email it by 6:00 PM on the same date.
