Selection Process
The selection procedure is conducted strictly based on academic merit:
- Merit-Based Preparation: Selection is based entirely on the percentage of marks obtained in Class 10th (Matriculation).
- No Exam / Interview: There is no written examination, computer-based test, or viva-voce.
- Tie-Breaking Rule: If two or more candidates have the same score, the candidate older in age is placed higher. If the date of birth is also identical, the candidate who passed Class 10th earlier is given preference.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must appear for document verification at East Coast Railway Headquarters, Bhubaneswar along with medical fitness certification.
- Career Advantage: Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAAs) trained in Railway establishments are entitled to 20% preference in open-market Railway Level-1 recruitment.
